Lightning pictures from 02-08-01 from about 21:30 pm - 0:15 am (local time), North of Tilburg, The Netherlands.

E  -  Well, as you can see lightning didn't show up as spectacular as I expected. It looks like the fine branching of anvil crawlers and CC lightning is too faint to be captured bright on an iso 50 slide film, even with the maximum aperture of 5.6, though it looks very brilliant in real. Some of the branches got lost because my scanner doesn't have the required resolution to show them. These are my first pictures taken with a Fuji Velvia, but if I want to get the fine branches better, I'll have to buy a better lens or another film...
To view the chase traject: see the map below. There you will find some satelite pics and lightning detection maps for that evening too.
Video pretended to record, but afterwards, nothing appeared to be on the tape, except some jumping lines.
The last picture shows a sundog, taken on august the 4th, around 7pm.

Many thanks to Olivier Vandeginste for the chase, and to Steven Killemaes for the support by phone on the road!
